DHI’s understands the unique challenges facing you as
a General Manager, Department Head or a Human Resources professional.
In today’s war for talent, finding the right associates
to join your team and to deliver the exceptional service promised
by your brand and demanded by your guest is increasingly difficult.
DHI is here to help. Our leadership team includes experienced
hospitality Human Resources professionals, with extensive
international recruiting experience. We understand your challenges
and look forward to being of service to you by designing an
international staffing solution which will support the needs
of your hotel, resort, country club or restaurant.
DHI can support your property through the following international
work and training programs:
• H-2B Seasonal Worker
Program
• J-1 Intern / Trainee
Program
• J-1 Work and Travel
Program
DHI has developed a strong network of experienced overseas
affiliates that can supply experienced and highly motivated
workers and trainees that can add a wealth of talent, experience
and enthusiasm to your resort. All of our seasonal workers
have previous hotel, restaurant or cruise line work experience.
Our student participants are actively pursuing hospitality
or culinary courses and have a vested interest in gaining
practical experience to enhance their classroom education.

Here are just some of the benefits of utilizing international
workers or trainees at your property:
• The Right Skill Set
at the Right Time – DHI will work with
you to identify the periods when you need help the most. We
will then recommend a program, or combination of programs
to meet this demand. All of our participants have previous
related work experience or education, so you are truly getting
qualified help when you need it the most.
•
An Eager, Motivated and Reliable
Workforce – DHI’s participants
are eager to work and willing to work as much overtime as
needed by the business. Most of DHI’s participants can
only work for one employer while they are in the USA. This
gives you fully flexibility with scheduling and workforce
utilization.
• Financial Savings
– All international employees are subject to Federal
Minimum Wage requirements, and must receive the same pay as
US employees working in the same positions. However, they
do not have to participate in your standard benefits plans
resulting in a considerable “fringe”, or bottom
line savings to your business. Also, Social Security Tax (FICA)
and Federal Unemployment Insurance (FUTA) do not need to be
paid for J-1 participants. This can result in a substantial
saving in payroll taxes over the course of the season.
•
Returning Workers –
Many of DHI’s participants can come back to the USA
to work for future seasons, or return on a different visa
program. This “repeatability” is another advantage
for employers, as a returning worker can save the company
substantial training dollars and eliminate the costs involved
in bringing a new employee up to speed.
•
Bi-Lingual Staff –
While English speaking skills will vary on an individual basis,
DHI conducts a thorough pre-screening to ensure that every
participant has the ability to speak and understand English
at a level suitable for the position they will be hired into.
In addition, strategic hiring from countries that match the
demographic of your guests or workers can be an innovative
way to improve guest service levels. Many of our participants
speak two or three languages and can be an asset in your high
guest contact departments and assist in making guests from
these same countries immediately feel at home.
• Workplace Diversity
– The introduction of international employees can be
a valuable supplement to ongoing workplace diversity initiatives.

After we fully understand your needs, the DHI team will recommend
the program or programs that will be the best fit for your
property. DHI will then work closely with you through all
stages involved in the candidate selection and visa application
process. We guide you through the process from initial consultation
up until your participants arrive in the USA to commence their
work or training program. Even after arrival we are always
on hand to assist with any questions that may arise. We pride
ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, ongoing
program support, and honest, open, and timely communication.
